4 Generation Vacation

Aunt Dewey and Charile got married in Washington this weekend so the the four generations got to go on a vacation!  It was really awesome for all of us and we made some amazing memories.

We had to leave for the airport at 3:00 am so we had to wake Aubree up.  She was not a happy camper.  She calmed down after we parked the car and was surprisingly calm as we checked in.  She is 21 pounds in her car seat... It is a heavy 21 pounds after you carry it around for awhile.  Notice the baby Pumas which lasted about 2 hours.  I am in love with baby shoes.

Aubree went down her first escalator!  This is actually a picture of her third escalator ride because we rode back up and down again so we could get a picture.

Aubree was playing with her moose when she bit down on his antler and let out a scream.  Poor baby had a tooth!

I think she must have bit her tongue.  I couldn't believe that we were about to take a teething baby on her first airplane ride... We were going to be "those people" with "that screaming baby" that people dread flying with.  But, Aubree slept with her Great-Grandma as we boarded the plane and slept until just before take off.

She nursed and then didn't wake up again until the middle of the flight.  We played with her moose, her apple, watched some tv, and she even danced on the tray table.  She did great.  Don't worry the ear buds lasted just long enough to get a picture and she was done with them.

She nursed during the landing and cried less than her mom...  I have a serious fear of flying and I pray Bree does not inherit that from me.

Our first stop was a tour of the the Mariner's field, Safeco Stadium.

We got to go on the field, in the dugout, and Aubree even got to call the pressbox.

Then we were off on our 2 hour drive to Oak Harbor, where our options were to take a ferry (like drive our car onto a boat... another fear of mine) or take a bridge (yet another of my deepest fears).  We opted for the bridge.

After a long day we finally got to hang out with Dewey and Charlie and then got to settle in for the night.  Aubree did not sleep well in the pack-n-play that we borrowed... We were all awake within 2 hours, so we tried our hand at co-seeping, something I swore I would NEVER do!  But  it was that or all 4 of us getting to wake up every hour, or so.  Aubree only woke up 5 times during the night... it was a long night.

We spent the morning getting ready for the wedding.  Aubree got to take her first shower (not a bath) with Mommy.

The only thing I love more than tiny baby feet is tiny painted toenails, and the only things I love more than that is tiny painted toe nails in tiny baby sandals.

Aubree got to try on my bracelet as a necklace.  It was cute, but was a little too heavy for her dress.

The wedding was perfect.  Sweet, purple, and at the beach.  It was Aubree's first wedding, and she slept through it.  Oh well.  I am glad she slept through it instead of screaming through it, which I was a little worried about.  It was also her first trip to the beach!

Aubree got to ride a tricycle at the reception.  I am pretty sure she loved it.

And she got to wear pretty flowers in her hair, just like Mommy.

The next night was a little rough because our room was above the conference room... which was hosting a birthday party... Awesome.  If we would have been in the mood to have a dance party, it would have been great.  Needless to say, it was another rough night.

On Sunday, Aubree got to ride her first ferry!  That was, of course after she pooped all over herself and me as we got out of the car.  It is a good thing that I always bring her an extra outfit and that I always wear 2 shirts.

This is the boat we were on... Yes, there are 3 rows and 2 levels of cars on that boat.  Talk about a trip to face my fears....

It was a long walk to get onto the boat.

We had lots of time to take lots of pictures.

Aubree and her Great-Grandma had a great time looking out and watching for whales.  We only saw salmon and sea otters.

Aubree got to drive the boat!

She wanted to eat my candy so bad.  She only got to play with it.  One tooth is just not enough to chew taffy :)

Notice that Aubree is not wearing the adorable dress that she started the day in and I am wearing my undershirt with a jacket... yup, it is a good thing I carry ziplock bags in my diaper bag.

Our last night was pretty good.  No parties and Aubree got used to sleeping in the bed.  Just in time to leave the next day.  We were all thankful to get a good night's sleep.

On our last day, Aubree got to go swimming for the first time!  The water was the same temperature as the hot tub.  It was perfect and Aubree seemed to like it.

I was pretty excited I got to cross something off my bucket list during the trip... Coffee and rain in Seattle!  A perfect end to the trip.

Aubree is 19 weeks

This week Aubree got to go to Washington for Aunt Dewey's wedding!  She had so many firsts on our trip and we had so much fun!  More on that later...

Dr. Deckerman said that we could safely start solids when Aubree was ready!  I really wanted to wait until she was 6 months old, but she is already showing interest so I think we will start her on rice cereal sooner, than later.  She does love to sit in her highchair when we are in the kitchen and she really loves playing with her spoons!

I felt like a mom of the year this week!  Aubree was still sleeping when it was time to leave for work so I got her out of her bassinet, down the stairs, in her car seat, and buckled in without waking her up!  I felt pretty awesome!

Aubree got to spend the day in her jams because she was such a good sleeper.  She even got to have lunch with Mommy in her jammies.

Aubree and I went to Sam's Club to stock the fridge for Daddy before we left for Washington.  Aubree got mad at the lady checking us out for being too slow and decided to yell... and yell... and yell.  She was so mad.

Aubree's Grandma bought her a few tons of new toys to take on the airplane.  I think she would have paid any amount to make sure Aubree wasn't "that kid" on the plane.  But, thanks to her new toys Aubree did amazing during the flight.  She got to test them out before we left though.  She does love chewing on her apple.

Maybe she loves chewing on it because my baby got her first tooth this week.  That's right, my 4 month old baby has a TOOTH!  Apparently that is why she had a fever this weekend.  We found it at the airport before we loaded the plane.  She did not have any reaction to her 2 month shots so it was a little weird that she reacted so strong to her 4 month shots.  It turns out, it wasn't a reaction but she is just like her mommy and gets a crazy temperature right before she cuts a tooth.  Tooth number 2 will be here before the end of this week... which means we have a cranky baby with a temperature right now... wish us luck.

Aubree is 18 weeks

I am so blessed to be able to work from home.  I am so thankful that we don't have to put Aubree in daycare and that I get to spend so much time with her.  (Which is a good thing because I can not get enough of her.)  She loves to help me work when she can.  She does make it difficult so she only sits in my lap once in a while.

Miss A is becoming so independent.  She loves playing in her jumper and is spending more time in it now that she can actually play with the toys.  She still has to stand on a box lid though because she is just a little too short.  Sorry, girl... being too short was the story of my life and looks like I may have passed it on to you.

Aubree is growing so so so much!!!  She has officially outgrown her 0-3 month pajamas.  I avoided changing sizes as long as I could but her tiny toes started to fill in the feet of her jams.  I don't want my baby to grow up.  I actually cried when I boxed up some of her old jams.  She still has her favs hanging in the closet though.  I just couldn't bring myself to put them away yet.  She can still wear her onsies and dresses though so she will be wearing them as much as she can.

She also had her 4 month check up and shots this week.  Talk about a sad baby.  It breaks my heart to hear her cry.  She got a terrible fever the next day and was miserable.  She got to hang out in her diaper and cuddle with Mommy all day, so it wasn't all bad.  She even got to relax with a cool rag on her head.  I am not really sure that she enjoyed it so much, but she is really good at  doing things to make me happy.

She got to sit in her rocking chair for the first time.  Amp was a little jealous and wanted to play with us, but I don't think Aubree wanted to play.

We had a bit of a bad hair day week.  I think Aubree was mad about it too :)  She has started to talk yell a lot.  She can be so loud.  I think she just likes to hear herself talk.

And finally... Here is Bree after a day of shopping with Mommy.  She is destined to be a sorority girl, sleeping with her panda.

Aubree is... a few weeks older

We have our computer back!  I couldn't convince Dan to buy a new computer, just yet... (but I just bought a car and might have bought A a ton of new clothes) so I can't complain too much.  But... we officially have our computer back and it is up to limited warranty standards.

So much has happened in the past few weeks.  Most importantly, Aubree is 3 weeks older, so lets start there.

15 Weeks

Aubree went to my favorite restaurant of all time this week!  Casa Bonita!  She had a great time meeting some of our family and watching the cliff divers.

Aubree also loves shopping with Mommy and going to lunch with the girls!

Aubree also turned 100 days old!!!  I can't believe how fast my baby is growing!

Aubree got to go to her first wedding reception this week!  Our neighbors got married on the beach and we got to help them celebrate.  Aubree had a great time and even got to hang out with Lindsey.

She was really tired though and kept squirming in her dress so she got to change her clothes.

16 Weeks

Aubree got to watch her first Bronco's game with Daddy this week!

This week Aubree had a bit of sleep regression :(  She is now waking up every 3-4 hours.  I really hope she grows out of this phase and goes back to her 6-8 hour stretches...  Mommy needs some sleep.

We got to go to Cafe Rio this week.  It is quickly becoming my new craving, although, I will never crave anything more than Dairy Queen.  I think Miss A really wanted to drink my soda!

And eat my burrito...

Aubree is laughing and giggling SO much!  She seems to be such a person and getting so much personality!

She also plays so much that when she finally takes a nap, she sleeps hard.  :)

Aubree also rolled over for the first time!  Her Daddy sat on the floor to play with her and over she went.  Of course she only did it once and wouldn't do it for me.  For me, she ate her fingers.

The dogs still don't really care for Aubree too much.  Amp still checks on her but won't get too close to her.  That is until Daddy and Aubree play horsy with Amp.

Aubree doesn't really like when Mommy has to do chores around the house.  She got to help me do some laundry this week.

We are LOVING the cooler weather in Colorado!  Here is Aubree hanging out in her new hoodie.

17 Weeks

This week Aubree and I went to a Mommy and Me lunch!  It was so good to hang out with other mommies and babies.

We also went to Uncle Jeremy's housewarming.  We had such a fun time and we got to hang out with Grandma Ruby and talk about our upcoming 4 generation vacation.

We also got to take a few more family pictures, which I can't get enough of.

Aubree went to her first baby shower on Sunday!  She is excited for her new friend to be born ;)  After we got home, Aubree decided to show off for Shaula and decided to roll over... and over and over.  She rolled over all day.

After Aubree played on her blanket, Ampy decided that it was his turn to play on the blanket.

He was also a bit jealous this week and also decided that he needed to take a turn on Aubree's play gym.

My computer is broken

Well, it's official... My computer has been sick for awhile now, but this week it is gone. Something about the logic board and hard drive and other computer terms that I know nothing about. In non-computer people language... it won't turn on and will cost quite a bit to replace the bits that don't work anymore. Thus, blogging from my phone, which is taking much longer than expected. Sad day. But isn't it amazing what we can do these days... Blogging, from my phone, laying in bed.

On a funnier note, I was informed that at the end of the year my computer will be considered vintage and the Mac store will no longer work on it. Ok, not really funny, but I didn't want to continue with all of my sad news.

And my final piece of bad news... I don't know my phone well enough to do my Aubree posts... I can barely log in (Man, do I sound old, or what?). But don't you worry, I am journaling old-school, with a notebook and pen (kinda like a rough draft like when I was in elementary school 20 years ago... Talk about old, goodness. ) Anyway, pictures and updates to come in 10-15 business days when we can pick up the computer (or when someone convinces Dan to let me buy a new, non-vintage computer... So, most likely in a few weeks.)

And for a little giggle, if I can figure out loading pictures from my phone... Here is Miss Aubree enjoying wearing a paper towel as a hat. What a goof.
