20 weeks - Baby 2

How far along? 20 Weeks – October 23

Baby is the size of a: A banana… Baby is 10 inches long and 11 ounces

Total weight gain/loss: 6 pounds

Maternity clothes? More and more each week.  I still live in sweats but definitely maternity jeans and tops when I go out.

Stretch marks? No new ones, but the old ones are still getting bigger.  Definitely need to invest in some Bio Oil.  

Sleep: Pretty good because I am so tired by the end of the day.  But rolling over has started to become an ordeal.  I wake to pee 3-4 times and struggle to get back to sleep.

Miss Anything? Not much this week.  I miss being able to keep up with Aubree... and bend over without almost getting stuck.  

Movement: Definitely, a little!  Little Girl loves to play as soon as I lay down to sleep.  She is definitely a mover and was rolling like crazy at our last ultrasound.

Food cravings: Nothing really new.  Once in a while I get a craving for Krispy Kreme.  And I have been obsesses with oranges the past few days, but nothing like last time.  

Anything making you queasy or sick: Besides the heartburn that makes me so nauseous that I actually throw up, not much.  I definitely feel sick after I do a lot in a day.

The Bump: Definitely.  If we do this pregnancy thing again, I will definitely lose all the baby weight first.  I feel like starting our 30 pounds heavier was really hard.  I feel like I should be in the third trimester already and things are already starting to get difficult.

Gender: Still a girl.  I have to be honest, I didn't believe the first ultrasound.  I was convinced that it was a boy so I had to wait until 20 weeks to be sure.  Now I am confident.  I am so excited for Aubree to have a sister!

Picking out a name:  Now that I know for sure it's a girl I can really consider names.  We are so busy we probably won't have time to decide until we get to the hospital.  Haha.  We keep adding to the list though.  I think we have a middle name but we need to find a first to go with it.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? In. 

Wedding rings on or off? Off.  I am lucky when I remember to put on my fake ones though.  

Telling People:  I thought telling people would be easier this time around.  Nope, I was still just as nervous and anxious.  Most people had positive reactions which is the best feeling in the world.  I love how excited most people are for our family and it makes me feel so blessed to be surrounded by people that are so happy for us. At least there weren't any negative reactions this time around, but apparently no reaction can still be just as hurtful.  We have finally told all our family and most of our friends.  We are still waiting to post it on Facebook, but we will be doing it very soon!  

Happy or Moody most of the time: So happy.  I feel so blessed to be having another girl and I am so lucky to have such an amazing, sweet, supportive family.  I love life and can't wait to hold our babe.  I also feel so blessed to have such a supportive husband that will do anything to make me happy... even if that means losing sleep to spend time with me while working a ridiculous night schedule.

Best moment this week: Seeing Baby at our 20 week ultrasound and feeling so much more movement.  I will never get tired of seeing or feeling her.  Also, we are trying to build a house!  We got put on the wait list to pick our lot so that is super exciting!  Since it's been a month since I updated... one of the best moments so far has been getting my double stroller as an early birthday present!  Thanks Mom and Dad!!! I LOVE it!  SO does Aubree and I am sure Baby will love it too!

Looking forward to: So many things!  Hearing about our house, Dan and Aubree getting to feel Baby, catching up on my to-do list.  

16 weeks - Baby 2

I should just do monthly updates on this pregnancy.  I have every intention to update and by the end of the day I am so tired and sick that all I can manage to do is get into bed, lucky if my face gets washed.  This could be a long few months.  It is all worth it though? right? ;)

How far along? 16 Weeks – September 25

Baby is the size of a: An avocado… Baby is 4.5 inches long

Total weight gain/loss: up 7 pounds.  I think that is the same as wen I was pregnant with Aubree.  Hopefully I won't gain the same amount as with A.

Maternity clothes? More maternity jeans and a few tops.  

Stretch marks? No new ones but the old ones are turning white again.  I need to invest in some Bio Oil soon.  

Sleep: Sleeping great!  I am so tired by the end of the day I am out as soon as I get into bed.  I do have to wake up to pee at 3am.  Sometimes I can't sleep after that which is hard but we are making it work.

Miss Anything? Cake batter and Drinking once in awhile.  We went to the Denver Oktoberfest this weekend which was fun... but it's not as much fun when you can't have a drink while everyone else is on drink #4.  It was also a lot of walking which is getting tougher these days.

Movement: Maybe a little.  I am pretty sure I can feel Baby at night when I am trying to sleep.  I can't wait to actually feel Baby move.  It is my favorite part of pregnancy.

Food cravings: Tomato soup and goldfish crackers.  It's a good thing I have a toddler that will give me her snacks :)  Mostly still sweets... things like fruit and candy.  Nothing major this time though.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing really.  The heartburn is pretty killer which makes me sick.

The Bump: yep.  I never got rid of my bump from Aubree but it is definitely showing these days.

Gender: GIRL! I actually thought it was a boy the in the beginning.  I got a really strong boy feeling but all of my symptoms pointed to girl, so I was really confused.  Everyone else thought boy as well.  Every person that we talked to guessed boy so we were all a little surprised.  I think everyone expected to see BOY show up on the ultrasound so we were all shocked when we saw GIRL.  We are very happy that baby is healthy and we are so excited that Aubree will have a sister.  I am still not really sure I believe it though.  Haha.

Picking out a name:  Our list is pretty long... We had our boy named picked out for sure, but our girl list gets longer every day.  We are much busier this pregnancy so I feel like we don't even have time to talk about names.  

Labor Signs: Nope, thank goodness.  Lets hope we get 24 more weeks of this!  I did have a lot of swelling the past few weeks, so I am going to take it easy and not over do it this time.  We are still hoping to go 4 days past our due date... Let's hope for a 16th baby!  We'll see if I still feel that way in 3 months though.

Belly Button in or out? In.  I am not expecting any other answers.  It stayed in the whole time with Aubree.

Wedding rings on or off? Off.  They have been off since day one.  I was in the process of losing my baby weight and getting my rings to fit again when we got pregnant.  I should have known because I am pretty sure that as soon as the egg implanted my fingers swelled up so much.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! and it's getting better.  I am super tired but I think I am so excited and loving life.

Best moment this week: finding out that baby P is a SHE! :) Also spending time with Dan at Oktoberfest was great. We hardly get alone time together so it is nice to get out and just be married again.

Looking forward to: Feeling more movements, our 16 week appointment, and getting Dan and Aubree to feel her.  As a family, I am so excited to get further in our house search!  We are considering buying another house and it is so fun talking about what it will be like so I am excited to get further in the process.

9 weeks round 2

We have finally announced it to everyone... We are having another baby!  I am so so so excited and can not wait to meet our newest addition.  I can not wait to see Aubree as a big sister and I can not wait to see how crazy our life is going to become.  Baby P Round 2 is due March 12, 2015!  2 kids under 2... eeks! What are we getting ourselves into ;)

Baby is the size of a: grape

Total weight gain/loss: down 1 from last week but starting out 30 heavier than I did with Aubree, so that's not so exciting.

Maternity clothes? Still wearing sweats and shorts most days but my jeans still fit!

Stretch marks? None yet, Let's hope it stays this way for awhile.  I have a feeling that the ones I got with Aubree with make their appearance much sooner this time.

Sleep: Good except waking up twice a night to pee.  I also bought a pregnancy pillow this time around, which helps a little.

Miss Anything? I miss my energy.  Being pregnant with a toddler is not the same as the first time.  I am so much more tired and it's getting hard to keep up with Miss Aubree.

Movement: None yet but I can't wait!

Food cravings: No cravings, not really aversions either which is nice but nothing sounds good.

Anything making you queasy or sick: life.

The Bump: Is it possible to start with a bump? I feel like the day we found out I was pregnant, I was bloated.

Picking out a name: We have some ideas, but it is hard to decide until we know the gender.

Labor Signs:  None.

Belly Button in or out? In.  It never popped with Aubree so I am pretty sure this time it will be the same.

Wedding rings on or off? Off. :(  It never fit right after I had Aubree so when I found out I was pregnant I just took them off and bought a cheap one that should fit for this whole pregnancy.

Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy. 

Best moment this week:  Finding out we are having another baby!  Although we found out the day after my missed period, I have a feeling these weekly updates might become every-few-week updates with a toddler.  We are still just telling everyone which is all the excitement we can handle at this point.

Looking forward to: Telling more people and just getting more and more excited!

Aubree is 18 Months!

Umm... When did my baby turn a year and a half!?! I never thought this was possible... When I was waking up to feed her every 2 hours, when she was too small to fit in her jumper so we surrounded her with blankets to hold her body up, when she hit every milestone that made me question why she had to grow so fast... rolling over, sitting up, her first steps.  And now she is a year and a half.  She is 18 months of personality and attitude, but she is our little monster and we love her more and more each day for it. 
Age: 18 months

Height: 30.5 inches (12th %)

Weight: 18 lb. 9 oz (5th %)

Head Circumference: 47.8 cm (87th percentile)

Clothes:  Most of her Halloween/winter/fall stuff is 18 months, so that is what she wears, but occasionally I put her in some 12 month stuff.

Diaper Size: Size 3

Things she loves: She is such a happy kid.  She loves pretty much everything.  She points out every dog she sees, or hears, or thinks she sees (like raccoons and horses).  She loves talking, being held, "helping" me work and "helping" Dan look at paperwork.  If it involves making a mess, she loves it.  Taking all the toys out of the toy box, yes, ripping up paper in to tiny shreds, yes, taking every movie out of the cabinet, yes.  She also loves playing with our dog, Amp.  She loves hugging him and chasing him (and hitting him with toys and pulling his tail).  She also loves pointing to her Dad in pictures... not Mommy who is with her everyday and is also in the picture, but she is sure to point and say, "Dada!". 
Things she hates: Like I said, she loves so much.  She is not a fan of shots and does not love when I have to work so she has to play by herself.  She also does not like the Cortisone that I have to put on the back of her knees because she has a slight bit of eczema. 

Milestones:  So much talking... I can't even count how many words she says.  What else? She has started running and walking backwards.  She loves stacking things, toys, canned food.  The biggest milestone in my book is that she can put herself to sleep now and I don't have to rock her to sleep.  
Talking:  My favorite thing is when toddlers make up words for things they can't say.  She says LooLoon for every balloon that she sees and my heart melts every time.  She squeaks "Amp" when she sees our dog.  She loves Shh-ing us.  I always say, "shh... Daddy is sleeping" so now if you say someone is sleeping she will Shh you.  Or she will just shh you when ever she feels like it.  She is getting good at signing too.  She says please and thank you and she knows how to tell you she wants water or milk.  now I just need to get on it so I can teach her more signs.

Teething: 12! She is working on the K-9s so that is a ton of fun.

Sleeping: Depends on the day.  She falls asleep great, but wakes a few times a night.  I think she talks in her sleep and wakes herself up.  But she is good at going back to sleep after a few minutes.  Now that is it staying dark longer, she is sleeping a little later, which is great for all of us :) Napping is another story... I am lucky if she'll sleep for 20 minutes a day.  

Eating:  Everything.  She eats what we eat which is really convenient now.  Her favorites are mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, peaches, grapes, popcorn, and ice.  Yes, that is ice.  She eats a few cups a day.  She walks to the fridge, yells, "ICE" and expects us to fill up a cup of crushed ice.  She also LOVES candy, Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.  And she is obsessed with juice.

Looking forward to: Still just everything.  I can't believe that we have to start planning her 2nd birthday soon... Why does time go so fast?  I can't wait to keep seeing her grow and learn and talk more.  She is getting so independent and I am excited to take her more plasces that she will actually enjoy.  I am also so excited for the holidays!  I can't wait to see how excited she gets when we break out the Christmas tree!

16 months

Age: 16 months

Height: At her 15 month appointment she was 29.4 inches (14th %)

Weight: 17lb. 10.25oz (6th %)

Head Circumference: 92nd percentile

Clothes:  12 months... unless it is laundry day (and by day, I mean week) then she wears 6 month dresses as shirts and 9 month cold weather clothes.

Diaper Size: We finally ran out of size 2s!  Size 3s still seem a little big but we officially switched.  Although I am so sad that Huggies does not make Little Snugglers bigger than a 2... Now I have to find a new brand that I like.

Things she loves: Being independent.  She is running and getting into everything!  She also LOVES copying us! When Dan points his finger, she points her finger, 
Things she hates: She is getting better at sleeping!  Thank goodness... 2 years of not getting a constant night's sleep was killing me.  She sleeps 10-11 hours!  She also hates being alone, like when she wakes up or has to play in the bathroom while I shower or get ready). 

Milestones:  Walking, Talking... I feel like she is growing up so fast there won't be anymore milestones for her to hit.  Does her first (and second, and third) bruise count as a milestone?  Aubree was moving her little table around the living room and tripped and fell face-first into the corner of the coffee table.  I was devastated that she got her first black eye!  She is tough though!  She was ready to keep cruising before I could pick her up.  We also went to the park for the first time.  She likes the swing but the slide is her favorite.
Talking:  Definitely "Mama", "Dada", "Doggie", "Up", and "Amp".  We are working on "Ball" and "Night, Night" before sleep time.  She can say it when she is tired, but not too tired.  She is signing "More" for more of everything... food, milk, bubbles, playing.  She also said, "Owl" the other day... I would have missed it but she reached for our plastic owl on the porch at the same time.  

Teething: 9 teeth... we are currently getting an upper molar.  It's been rough on us all.

Sleeping: Great!  (Knock on wood...) but she loves her night time routine: bath, brush hair and teeth, story time and cuddles with Mommy in the glider, talking about our day and prayers, and then she lays in her crib.  Once in a while she cries for a few seconds and then she sleeps!  She doesn't even stand up when I put her in her crib anymore.  (Honestly, it broke my heart a little that she doesn't need to nurse to sleep anymore and that she can fall asleep on her own... On the bright side, maybe Dan and I start thinking about making up for the honeymoon that we never took because our 2-year wedding anniversary is coming up.)

Eating:  Grahm Crackers.  That is all.  She loves them and will eat them all day if I would let her.  
She is also eating more foods.  She likes eggs with cheese and bananas.  She is getting tired of quesadillas so we got her a burrito at The Rio and she LOVED it.  She enjoys watermelon, mac and cheese, and hamburger too.  There isn't much she won't eat but I will guarantee that she will feed half of it to the dogs.  

Looking forward to: Everything.  I love spending every single day with her and each day she amazes me with something new.  I am so excited that it is summer and we get to play outside.  I also can't wait for the 4th of July and watching her enjoy the fireworks because she slept through it last year.  Dan and I are excited to celebrate our 2 year anniversary next week!  

Hello, September!

It really feels like it was last week that I was posting about it being March and Spring Cleaning season... Is there such a thing as Fall Cleaning? Because I feel like I am ready for it again.  I have no clue where our summer went, but now it is Fall in my book.  Good bye summer, you will be missed.  But I must admit that I am super excited for Fall!  I have already broke out my sweaters and ordered a pumpkin spice latte at church last Sunday.  We have our fuzzy pajamas and blankets on our beds and Aubree and I have been reading Halloween and Fall books for a week.  You can bet that on September 17th our house will be decked in Fall decor.  My pumpkins are out of the closet and waiting patiently to go out.  (Apparently someone told my husband that he was born in the summer, so I have to wait until after his birthday to decorate.)

We had a very busy Summer!  Here's to a very busy Fall!  Maybe one day we can have a season that we can just relax :)

15 months

Age: 15 months

Height: Her appointment is next Tuesday, so I will update then

Head Circumference: 87th percentile

Clothes:  Still in 12 months, but 9 month winter clothes when it is chilly

Diaper Size: 2. 

Things she loves: eating ice, eating by herself in general
Things she hates: Teething is the worst.  She is miserable.  We are miserable.  The dogs are miserable.  
She also hates going to Sunday School.  They say she stops crying after we leave, but it still breaks my heart every week.  She is also in her "Stranger danger" phase... She freaks out every time someone (other than me or Dan) tries to hold her before she is ready.

Talking:  So many words!  She babbles All. The. Time!  I even caught her talking to herself as she fell asleep the other night.  Her favorite words are Mama, Dada, and Up.  She also says dog and yells Amp when she chases him.   

Teething: Working on 11 teeth... She has both upper molars and one bottom has popped through.  The other bottom one is swollen and about to come through.

Sleeping: I will knock on wood until she is 5, but she sleeps great!  She likes to be rocked to sleep (or at least almost to sleep) before she lays down, but to be honest, it is my favorite part of the day so I will rock her as long as she wants.  She does really good when we just lay her down though thanks mostly to her vibrating crib, which has been a life saver!   She still takes 2 naps a day and sleeps 10-12 hours at night.  I tried to transition her to one nap and she was not happy, so for now I am good with 2 naps.

Eating:  Does ice count as food? Because that seems to be all she wants these days.  Her poor teeth hurt so bad, I think it's the only thing that helps.  She also loves mac and cheese, gold fish, hot dogs, and chicken.  

Looking forward to: Still everything.  Everyday she amazes me with all that she can do.  She is an amazing little girl.  I love summer and watching her play outside.  I am also looking forward to swimming more and we are taking a family trip to Idaho.  I am excited to see how she likes the beach... something tells me Amp will like it a lot more than Aubree.
